15 coaches of the Sealdah-Ajmer express train has derailed between Rura -Metha in Kanpur Dehat, leading to disruption of rail traffic on the Kanpur route. The accident has taken place 50 kms from Kanpur in the wee hours on Wednesday today. Senior officials have been directed to reach the accident site immediately, Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu. Rescue operations are taking place at war footing. Arrangements are in process to cut the train boogies with the help of gas cutters to bring out the bodies. Injured are being rushed to nearby hospitals. As per preliminary reports 15 coaches of the train got derailed. The first 5 & last 3 coaches were intact.
