Exploring the south central region of Utah, just above Arizona. Driving the offroad trail through the Valley Of The Gods looking for good dispersed camping. Many would consider the 17 mile dirt road through the valley to be overlanding but the road is good enough for most vehicles during the dry season. The valley itself has many dispersed camping locations and trails for hiking or mountain biking. The area around The Valley of the Gods is full of other adventure opportunities like Goosenecks State Park, Mexican Hat, Monument Valley and Cedar Mesa.

While the road through the valley is passable in most cars and trucks I would not attempt the drive in an RV or a low clearance car. While I did use my 4wd on one section I did not require it. The road is bumpy with a few stream crossings but I wouldn't say a 4x4 vehicle is necessary for the conditions that I experienced. However, I don't think I would attempt any off road trail like this without at least having the option of switching to 4wd, just in case...
