The pieces in this album by british composer Adrian Snell capture moments from more than 25 years of writing. Hours of playing and improvisation run like a seam through his musical life, the very foundation of all that finds its way into public performance.
Some of the tracks have already been featured on album, where at times they have taken on a very different character from their original composition at the piano and therefore are brought back to its roots. Others have never yet seen the light of day and until now they were only played to friends and family.
Adrian played a Steinway C grand piano, recording straight to DAT in order to preserve the sense of performance.
Recorded at The Michael Tippett Centre, Newton Park, Bath (United Kingdom).
April 1994.
