We sat down with the project manager of the Mandala Eco-Village, Julien Duchaine, who has been involved in the field of renewable energy since 2009. With a Master’s in Energy and Sustainable Engineering to complement his Bachelor’s in Mechanical and Production Engineering, his projects have spanned France, Indonesia, and Malaysia, mainly focusing on Solar PV.

Collaborating with local and international players on both small- and large-scale projects, he has also been involved in a range of eco-friendly tourism initiatives in Indonesia since 2014. Dedicated to life-long learning, Julien is committed to studying how technological advancements can positively impact our environment and life.

Julien oversees the Mandala project, ensuring that all sustainable guidelines are implemented most efficiently and effectively. By coordinating with various sustainability experts in their field, Julien is able to monitor every aspect of sustainability throughout every stage of the project to completion.
