(30 Mar 2017) The United States secretary of state has paid tribute to the founder of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara.
Rex Tillerson laid a wreath on Thursday in the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk during a visit to Ankara where he met with Turkish officials.
The United States and Turkey struggled during Tillerson's trip to resolve a deep dispute over the Kurdish role in the fight against the Islamic State group.
