U.S. Embassy Dhaka is proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation! In honor of Bangladesh's 50th anniversary, Ambassador Miller and State Minister KM Khalid MP inaugurated the renovation project of the 17th century Mughal Hammam Khana at Lalbagh Fort in Old Dhaka. This project, supported through Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation will restore and retrofit the historic site as well as create 3D architectural documentation of the building’s unique features.
The AFCP program strengthens civil society, spurs economic growth, and fosters respect for cultural diversity. Since 2001, the U.S. government, through Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, has funded 11 projects in Bangladesh to help preserve the country’s invaluable cultural legacy.
