CAPTAIN of the Cork hurling team Donal Og Cusack this evening officially kicked off the Foyle Pride Festival 2012 at Derry City Council buildings.
The GAA star said he was delighted to be in Derry, a city he says is synonymous with Civil Rights, and proud to be guest of honour at a reception held by the Mayor
"I get asked to a lot of events and I have to turn them down, he told Newswire. "But I was drawn to this, as Derry is renowned through history for Civil Rights. The city has come on an impressive journey and I wanted to be part of that."
