In this video is how to make Custard cake recipes. This recipe is a creamy and easy custard cake recipe. Custard cake is a popular Filipino dessert made of soft chiffon cake topped with delicious creamy crème caramel custard.

Ingredients
Caramel
1 cup granulated sugar
Custard
6 egg yolks
1 can (14 oz) condensed milk
1 can (12 fl. oz) evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
Cake
1 1/2 cups cake flour
½ cup granulated sugar
pinch of salt
1 ½ tsp baking powder
5 egg yolks
¼ cup oil
¾ cup water
Mix the cake mixture and egg batter and set aside.
Meringue
5 pcs. of egg whites
¼ tsp. Cream of tartar
Mix on high speed
Add ¾ cup white sugar when bubble formed. Beat until stiff peak
Instructions
Caramel
1. Pour in the granulated sugar in a pan and stir over low medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
2. Pour over immediately to 9 x 13 pan and spread it evenly. Set aside and let it cool completely.
Custard
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the egg yolks, evaporated milk and condensed milk.
2. Strain the custard mixture with cheese cloth or strainer and pour into the pan with the hardened caramel. Set aside.
Cake
1. Sift cake flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together.
2. In a separate bowl, combine the egg yolks, oil and water evenly.
3. Mix the cake mixture and egg batter together. Set aside.
Meringue
1. In a separate bowl, using a hand mixer on high speed beat egg yolks and cream of tartar.
2. Gradually add the sugar when bubbles starts to form. Continue to mix until stiff peaks formed.
Custard Cake
1. Preheat oven to 305F.
2. Fold in the meringue mixture into cake mixture until well combined
3. Pour the cake mixture over the custard. The cake mixture should float on top of the custard mixture.
4. Place the cake pan in a larger pan filled with 1 inch of water.
5. Place in the oven bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the toothpick comes out clean.
6. Remove the cake pan and place in a cooling rack. Let it cool down to room temperature for about 1 hour.
7. Run the knife on the edges and invert the cake pan to a wider serving platter. Serve chilled.
