Rushanara Ali, minister for homelessness and democracy, says it was a "difficult decision" for the government and that "lessons will need to be learnt" as Labour confirms that Waspi women will not get compensation.
Ms Ali says the £10.5bn in compensation was not a "fair and proportionate" use of public money.
