Radiokoala (Belarus) describes his musical expressions as leftfield / abstract / ethnictronica
An architect of memorizable soundscapes, radiokoala within his abilities is giving modern electronic music a gentle push and also is partly responsible for the Earth still spinning.
He makes music without ever resorting to boundaries of wire-drawn genres, but if you still wish to classify it somehow, he would readily proffer an umbrella term of 'brain-dance revival'.
For this live set I was using 4 voices in my 6U Eurorack system: Mutable Instruments Tides, Mutable Instruments Warps, Make Noise tELHARMONIC, and Sputnik Dual Oscillator (258c). Everything sequenced by Winter Modular Eloquencer. All synth parts & sounds were handled by the modular apart from drums. Beats provided courtesy of KORG volca beats × KORG volca sample sequenced internally. Highlights of my rig were Eloquencer and L-1 Mutant Cure VCF: the first time one could see these modules in a live video of mine. Everything mixed with Behringer Xenyx 1002B: two sub-mixes (dry/wet) going to Zoom R8, used for recording as well as master effects (compression/limiting + reverb & delay on second sub-mix).
Full list of modules used from left to right: (First row) Sputnik Dual Waveform Generator (sfx/bleeps/fm sounds/rhythmic noise), Steady State Fate Positronic Transient Gate (dual env/vca/modulator), Mutable Instruments Warps (melodic voice), L-1 Mutant Cure VCF (filter on Tides, primarily in LP mode, but occasionally switched to HPF in the second part of the video for those squishy basses you can hear), Mutable Instruments Tides (bassline generator). (Second row) Winter Modular Eloquencer (master clock and sequencer, 132 bpm), Befaco A*B+C (dual mixer/vca), 4ms Pingable Envelope Generator (modulation, tELHARMONIC H Voice amplitude envelope), Make Noise tELHARMONIC (chords/noise/leads/sfx).
Non-modular gear: KORG volca beats, KORG volca sample, Behringer Xenyx 1002B, Zoom R8, Nikitaeffects delay BOX (boutique modulation delay stompbox made in Belarus).
