Kamala Harris has told voters they have the chance to chart a "new way forward" as she framed her vision for the future of America.

"With this election, our nation has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitterness, cynicism, and divisive battles of the past," the Democratic presidential candidate said in her 45-minute speech to the DNC.

She cast her opponent Donald Trump as an "unserious man" but warned his election as president would have "extremely serious" consequences.
