African leaders on Wednesday signed an agreement to set up a single continental market
that is expected to boost trade and speed up integration. 44 of 55 African Union Member states signed the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTFTA) at an extraordinary summit of the continental body in Kigali, Rwanda. President Muhamadu Buhari of Nigeria, one of Africa's biggest economies cancelled his trip to Rwanda saying his country needed more tume to consult. President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the declaration on the establishment of the African Continental Free trade area and termed it the dawn of a new era for Africa.
