In the sixth video of the trip to Falmouth I'm sharing the challenges of finding and catching the species you're after.
In the firts part of the video, I headed up the river Fal to see if I could find and catch some Sea Bream. This is a species which I’ve never caught before - I’m not sure we have them up on the North East Coast of Scotland. Despite having done some research on rigs and baits I think I really needed some rag worm as my offering of mackerel was turned down by the Bream. It wasn’t a wasted trip, I've learnt a lot and have changes in mind for a future session. Challenge Bream is still on the cards for a future visit to Cornwall when I return with my secret weapon -some frozen rag worms.
On the second part / day of this video I wanted to try to catch a Thornback Ray. Again this proved a bit of a challenge. I suspect the heavy fish I lost was a Ray but I wasn't disappointed when a Huss turned up.
I wanted to share this video as it shows the full fishing adventure not just the days when you get all the catches. I did get a Spider crab in the Creel so all was a lovely bonus.
Hope you enjoy the video, add any comments or questions below.
Tight lines from me and a tail wag from Dee.
