Sacrificing his dreams and family to help Ford Pines build the Portal, McGucket exposed himself to horrors beyond belief, creating the Society of the Blind Eye to cope with everything as he spiraled further into insanity. Regressing from a genius inventor to a crazy old man who's regarded as the town maniac, only bouncing back thanks to the help of Dipper and Mabel.
