A power grid collapse left nearly all of the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico without electricity on New Year’s Eve. Luma Energy, the island's main power distributor, said about 90% of customers were left without electricity. A failure in an electric line at the Costa Sur power plant caused cascading issues across the island.
