This is an experimental hotbed for the growing vegetables in the winter. It should warm up the soil just a little and help the young plants grow – at least it should stop them getting frosted. We shall see.
Some will say we should use more greenery in there, or at least straw – and they might be right. But we have plenty of manure and it’s not doing much outside at this time of the year because it’s so wet and cold.
Sandra used old pallets we can usually pick up free from the recycling centre.
