Hey y’all, I spent my summer in 2021(my 4th summer) working in Yellowstone National Park. I spent my days off hiking into the backcountry and exploring as much as I could. This was my first solo backpacking trip in the park and I ventured to Dunanda Falls in the lower west corner of the park. I hiked for three days and spent two nights out. Spent most of my second day at the falls soaking in the pools. This hike had been on my list for a while and I was beyond thrilled to achieve it!
I already knew at this point I was going to hike the Appalachian Trail in 2022 so I took advantage of the land and time. I would continue to spend my summer doing ‘shakedown’ hikes to narrow down my gear for the trail.
