Nita Mukesh Ambani was born on 1 November 1963 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father Father Ravindrabhai Dalal wasa a senior executive of the Birla group. Her mother Purnima Dalal is a home maker. Her Sister Mamta Dalal is a Teacher.

She met Mukesh Ambani when she was a school teacher and married him in 1985. After marriage, she worked as a teacher for a few years. They have two sons and a daughter. Akash Ambani and Isha Piramal Ambani are the elder children and Anant Ambani is younger.
