Strange matter is a mass of free floating quarks, some of which are known as "Strange quarks".
It is impossible to remove it from this state, and it will convert any matter it touches into more of itself.
It is theorized that blobs of it are flying freely in space. These blobs of strange matter are known as "Strangelets".
