Somewhere between Brooke's Point and Rio Tuba, I rode off the main road and turned inland unto a gravel road towards the Mountain range, this is where the adventure truly began. The further I climbed into the mountains, the smaller the road became. Deeper back into the forest riding on dirt roads, then a dried creek bed, then a mud-clay trail, that sticky type of clay that drags a motorcycle down to the ground. I wandered into secluded villages, a few of them nestled back in the rainforest, met the friendliest people. Camped wherever evening finds me, a mountain top, an abandoned nipa-hut, in the forest with my hammock. Bathed in a river, drank water from natural springs along the path; and best of all made new friends that I met along this journey in the rainforest. It’s more fun in the Philippines.
