Oregon Democrat Jeff Merkley is holding the Senate floor in a marathon protest against Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. Merkley, who plans to speak through the night, blasted Republicans for 'stealing' the seat after the GOP blocked Merrick Garland, President Barack Obama's nomination, from replacing Antonin Scalia. Merkley's extended speech - which is not a filibuster - came hours after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell filed a motion for cloture the same day debates kicked off.
