This is it, fellas. The game I spent the majority of my childhood playing. The nostalgia I have for revisiting Dino Crisis 2 is off the charts!

I consider Dino Crisis 2 the better game of the series (we're not including Dino Crisis 3 as part of that *shudder*). I love the original Dino Crisis but while that game holds a special place in my heart, Dino Crisis 2 fulfilled both my love of dinosaurs AND my passion for blowing things to smithereens.

It's faster paced, it has double the amount of dinosaurs than Dino Crisis had, and even offers up some interesting and wacky sections of memorable gameplay - driving a tank as you escape a Tyrannosaurus Rex, shooting at hungry Plesiosaurs and Pteranodons atop a hovercraft, and even an underwater section where you narrowly avoid the jaws of chompy Mosasaurs! What's there not to like?

Well the story is a bit of a mess due to time travel elements and the game can feel extremely linear in places, with no room to stretch out and explore. But I think I can forgive Dino Crisis 2 for that when I can one-shot a charging Velociraptor with my big scary anti-tank rifle.

Also I know it's supposed to be terrifying to behold, but I can't look at the Giganotosaurus during in-game cutscenes without seeing anything but a big cheesy grin on its face.
