I scored a cheap boom box and the tape did not work . I replaced the belts ($20) and got it all working.
Because it was so cheap ($300) EBay , I decided to modify it........
Overview of the process of installing Bluetooth into 80s boom box that is switchable so that you can isolate the module from the power. This includes a step down Ebay transformer ($10) from 15 - 12 v using eBay sourced car bluetooth module ($15)
Terminal connections are crimp and line taps from Ebay ($15)

Also LED lighting Ebay ($20) that has remote control Music Sync and other settings .
Also showing the Lithium Batteries EBay ($100) that are USB rechargeable D size and switchable as well to prevent back feed power when plugged into mains .
