For the Queen's diamond jubilee in 2012 the Village produced a commemorative mug and held a celebration for villagers and friends. A sensational stage was built by a village building contractor and hosted four live bands all drawn from the village's talented musicians, A crowd of some 200 enjoyed the celebration which included a large screen within the Village Hall showing the progress of the royal Thames pageant, a huge feast topped by an enormous celebration cake decorated with the union flag and made by a village pastry chef.
