STEP BY STEP GUIDE
How to change Gmail language settings

STEP 1
I’m logged into Google and I’m in my Gmail inbox.
You can change your language settings in Gmail very easily to the country of your choice.
I’ll start by moving my mouse to the top right of Gmail and I’ll click on the gear icon - this opens up Gmail’s quick settings options.

STEP 2
We need to dive into the detailed settings to update the Gmail language settings
so to do that I’m going to click on the ‘See all settings’ button at the top of this right hand panel.

STEP 3
This opens up a new page, with a number of headings
You’ll see that the General tab is opened by default
At the very top of this page is the display language section of the Gmail settings.

STEP 4
If I click on the dropdown list, you’ll see a list of all the available languages in Gmail.
As of today, there are 105 different languages that are supported in Gmail.
I’ll choose to change my preferred language to French by clicking on it in the list.
Now this will only change your language setting in Gmail.

STEP 6
You can change your language options for all of your Google products with one click by clicking on the blue link under the dropdown list.

STEP 7
And to confirm the language changes I’ll click on the Save changes button.
The Gmail inbox then reloads
And you’ll see that the Gmail headings and information are now shown in French by default.
