'Twas the day before year-end, and all through the nation
Every tech was stirring, none taking vacation.
Their tools were arranged in their vans with care,
In hopes the equipment soon would be there.
The customers were buzzing, waiting in their ops
While visions of write-offs tempted like lollipops;
And doc in her scrubs, with hygienist in her mask,
Had just settled in for a long perio task.
When out in the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
They sprang from their chairs to see what was the matter.
Away to the window they flew like a flash
Tore open the door and threw up the sash.
The sun shone brightly on the new-fallen snow,
Blinding their eyes and scaring a crow,
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
But two Benco techs in a van with their gear,
With boxes of equipment so big and so new,
They knew in a moment they must be their crew!
In a flash, with a wink, the techs entered the site,
And they started unloading the chairs and the light.
'Now, DCI and Air Tech! Now Vatech and Kavo!
'Let's unpack the goods and get on with the show!'
From the van to the ops, and back once again,
They moved like wind, and the doc sighed, 'Amen!'
'I knew if I paid, and prayed just a bit,'
'And begged my rep, I would finally get it.'
Armed with their tools, each one glowing,
The techs tested the compressor to make sure it was blowing.
And three hours in, when the accountant called,
The doc answered the phone and was clearly enthralled!
'I got my equipment today, and the techs are installing,
'So I can take my deduction without any stalling!'
And the hygienists and assistants, veterans all,
Were so very excited, they started to bawl…
Tears of joy over the shiny equipment in view,
Thinking of treatments and care they will do.
The techs spoke not a word, but went straight to their work,
And tightened the screws; then turned with a jerk,
And picked up each zip tie and nut from the floor,
They gave a brief nod, and ran to the door.
They entered their van, buckled up, turned the key,
And away they both drove, just missing a tree.
But they yelled out the window, ere they drove out of sight…
'Happy year-end to all, and to all a good night!'
