While this video is not a complete Chase Freedom Flex review (that’ll be a separate video), here are a few of the main highlights of the new Flex version.
SIGNUP BONUS - December 2020
Earn $200 (i.e. 20,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points) after spending $500 in the first 3 months. Also earn 5% cash back (i.e. 5X points) on grocery store purchases for the first year of card membership (up to $12K total spend).
EARN CHASE ULTIMATE REWARDS POINTS
- 5% on up to $1,500 on combined purchases in bonus categories each quarter you activate.
- 5% on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards
- 3% on dining at restaurants, including takeout and eligible delivery services
- 3% on drugstore purchases
- 1% on all other purchases
NOTE: Cash back is issued in the form of Chase Ultimate Rewards points where 1 point = 1¢. The 5% travel category is unlimited. The rotating 5% quarterly categories are capped at $1,500 spend (i.e. $75 cash back) per quarter, then 1% beyond that until the category refreshes the following quarter.

3 THINGS TO KNOW
- Doing a Chase Freedom Flex product change FROM the original Chase Freedom card means a new 16-digit account number will be issued
- Your credit card account history is preserved, including your credit card payment history, credit card age, credit limit, etc.
- If your Chase Freedom Card is currently enrolled in mobile wallet (e.g. Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.), it will deactivate. You’ll need to add the Freedom Flex to your mobile wallet again.
