From Saturday 9th- Sunday 10th September the Great Central Railway held their second Diesel Gala, usual the event takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday but this year saw the event only take place on Saturday and Sunday

Weather during the day was mixed with rain and sunshine but this didn't dampen the mood

Locomotives featured:
- BR Class 37 'Tractor' no. 37714 'Cardiff Canton'
- BR Class 25 'Rat' no. D5185
- BR Class 31 'Ped' no. D5830
- BR Class 35 'Hymek' no. D7017 (Courtesy of Diesel and Electric Preservation Group)
- BR Class 33 'Crompton' no. D6535
- BR Class 26 no. D5343 (Courtesy of Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway)
- BR Ivatt Class 2 'Mickey Mouse' no. 46521 (Operated on the Dining Train)

The Class 101 DMU which features had also been running during the event running to and from the Mountsorrel Branch line
