Advance Australia Fair 2.0 is an alternative Australian Anthem proposed by the Recognition In Anthem Project, sung to the tune of Advance Australia Fair. The new version takes the first verse from the existing Anthem written by Peter Dodds McCormick (1878), but adds new lyrics for the 21st century by P. Vickery (2019). This new version also added the change from 'young and free' to 'one and free' in the first verse, which was subsequently adopted officially on 31 December 2020.
The second and third verses celebrate our First Peoples, our multicultural values, and calls on modern Australians to work together in peace and prosperity (for more details, see [ Ссылка ]).
Chime Choir was proud to be part of the 2019 Desert Song Festival in Alice Springs (traditionally known as Mparntwe), where the new proposed Anthem was debuted, and to take part in mass singings of the piece there and at Ormiston Gorge, traditionally owned by the Arrernte people. This 2020 recording was made in Melbourne, on lands traditionally owned by the Wurundjeri people. Chime pays respect to the Wurundjeri and Arrernte Elders, past and present.
