mrtsginfo Records the Bukit Panjang LRT 4-cars Rescue Operation, involving a C801 set pulling a defective C801A set on the Choa Chu Kang-bound path. While the rescue operation is ongoing, train services on the BPLRT gradually returns to normal.
Car 130 was the one defective thus a 4-cars rescue operation could not occur at all and a total of 48 passengers in the train, forced to walk on the track to reach Keat Hong according to SMRT Facebook statement. Engineers was seen going under the train off-camera.
Whether this will be the last time seeing C801 pulling a defective train since their retirement is gradually approaching, time will tell. This situation last occur about 5.5 years ago, where C801 push C801A back to the depot. But having C801 to pull them is such a rare sight. Never have once C801 and C801A coupled up together despite their compatibility to do so. 24/05/22
