A South Carolina deputy was nearly stuck by a suspect during a police pursuit, and it was all caught on dash cam video.

This dash cam video released by the Dorchester County Sheriff's Offices shows the moment a fleeing suspect left the road and hit a telephone pole, before rolling over several times.

Both the vehicle and the pole nearly hit a deputy who was trying to deploy stop sticks.

The deputy escaped serious injury by diving to the ground just in time.

The officer was taken to the hospital and checked before being released.
