Iran's ancient spring festival , Nowruz, is about to begin.
Millions of Iranians are preparing for the event, but the seasonal hike in prices is hitting Tehran's shoppers in the pocket.
STORYLINE
Nowruz is a time for celebration.
The spring festival is marked on March 21st but the party often begins weeks before with tens of thousands of people flocking to shopping centres to buy traditional and seasonal goods.
For around a month this ancient spring traditional means people can switch off and forget politics.
This huge festival in Tehran is usually organised a week before the Persian New Year. It draws bands, musicians and dancers from various parts of Iran.
Traditional drum beating and dancing are all part of the Nowruz celebrations.
