Colposcopy is an outpatient procedure that examines the lower anogenital tract with Binocular microscope. It involves 6-40 times magnified visualization of transformation zone of the cervix. Colposcopy is a clinical gold standard test for the evaluation of patients with abnormal cervical cytology. The indications of Colposcopy include Post-menopausal bleeding , Post-coital bleeding , Cytological Abnormality on Pap Smear , Abnormal bleeding Cervix and pre-operative assessment in early stages of Ca Cervix. Therapeutic Indications of Colposcopy include Cervical Biopsy (helps in direct visualizing the abnormal areas on Cervix . It helps in follow up in Conservative Management.
