The beautiful Freedom Memorial, which is a tribute to the lives lost from the terrorist attacks on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, also known as 9/11, is located on the southwest corner of the park, and can be seen from Golden Gate Parkway. The Memorial is a tribute to lives lost at the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in a field in Stoneycreek Township near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This is one of our very favorite places to go in Naples, Florida. Free things to do, places to go see Naples. Memorial Day. Entertainment.
Not far from 5th Avenue South and historic Third Street you will find Fred W. Coyle Freedom Memorial and Park. Open from 8:00 am to dusk daily, the park offers 50 acres of restored wetlands, wildlife, lakes and viewing platforms. A 3,500 foot boardwalk extends over the eastern portion of the park. Paved trails with wooden bridges and pavilions meander around the western portion of the park. Parking is free and there is no admission fee. Restrooms are located in the 2,500 sq. ft. Exhibition Hall and along some of the trails. There are many picnic tables and benches. The park is pet-friendly, as long as they are leashed. #freedompark #parks #naples #florida #walking
