TINDER is… well you know what it is… But it’s actually a fantastic way to just make friends. Obviously it depends what you’re looking for, but I always used to put “just looking for people to show me around in their city” in my bio and met people like that!

MEETUP is an app that you can use to… meet up with people. And not only that, you can select specific groups to meet up with as well. For travel, but also to learn new skills or start new projects!

GURUWALK is an app that offers free walking tours is many major cities! A fantastic way to talk to people. It’s so easy to talk to someone when you know they’re a traveler as well!

COUCHSURFING is a platform on which you can either offer your couch to travelers or sleep on someones couch! It’s safer than it sounds haha so check it out!

WORLDPACKERS is a platform that allows you to go on free trips in exchange for volunteer work! You help out a hostel and they give you a bed, food, and in many cases free activities as well!

INSTAGRAM, the best app ever for meeting people! However, not many people know how to use it correctly. What I used to do when I had 0 followers: Search for the location you’re going to in the search bar and send everyone you find a message. It will take some time, but eventually someone will agree to show you around! 😂

And finally, GOING SOLO is a fantastic app to find events near you to meet fellow solo travelers! I’ve never used it myself, but I’m hearing great things from some of my friends!
