Watch as Jess shares how to grow crystals on feathers! What a great way to use those extra feathers in the coop during fall molt. All you need is some feathers, Borax, and boiling water (use with caution). Within 24 hours, you should see your crystals grow!
Some tips - be sure to allow your feathers to sit for at least 24-48 hours for full crystal growth. To clean your container after growing crystals, pour some hot water into the container, and the crystals will melt. Your crystals will melt in water, so be careful not to get them wet. You can spray the feather with clear acrylic spray to preserve your hard work!
