Iran 🇮🇷 Golestan Palace | the Best tourist attractions of TEHRAN 2024 Golestan Palace volg
The marble throne was carved in the year 1221 AH (1185 AH-1806 AD) by the order of Fath Ali Shah Qajar from the best marble stone of Yazd quarries in Isfahan and is placed in the form of a platform with a long wall in the middle of the porch. This bed is based on the story of Hazrat Suleiman's bed, which was placed on the shoulders of Divan and Parian.
The history of marble throne porch
As we said at the beginning of the article, this marble throne is one of the buildings that were built by the order of Karim Khan Zand. But it is interesting to know that Karim Khan Zand died during the construction of this building, and due to this, the work of building the marble throne porch was also left unfinished. Of course, later the construction of this beautiful bed was completed by Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar. For the construction of this building, Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar ordered to bring most of the materials needed for the construction and painting of this building to Tehran and finish its construction. This is the reason why many historians refer to this place as the oldest palace building in Golestan.
During the reign of Feth Ali Shah Qajar, very important events happened to Ivan Takht Marmar. In 1220 AH, this king ordered the most professional stonemasons and sculptors of Isfahan to build a stone throne using the best Yazd marble and place it forever in the center of the porch. With this, Fath Ali Shah intended to prevent the transfer of the throne of Kavus. After the death of this king, the other people who sat on his throne ordered that the porch of the marble throne be completed and decorated. Even now, as you can see, this beautiful building still remains and many people go to Tehran's Golestan Palace to visit it.
