CARE International in Vietnam implemented the ICAM project from 2012-2015, funded by the Australian Government. It focused on supporting communities in the Mekong Delta, particularly women, the landless and the land poor, to take a leading role in adapting for climate change.
Many communities in the Mekong Delta are at great risk from the negative impacts of climate change and increased natural hazards. The majority rely on the land or the river to live and work. The ICAM project supported communities to identify climate change risks and impacts from their own perspective, and to plan practical and effective adaptation measures so that they can become more resilient.
