I've never been a big fan of the Lexus brand over the years, though I do like the SC430 as a cruiser, can very much appreciate the original LS, and do enjoy this 3rd Gen LS. As far as brands I hate, Lexus is pretty low on the totem pole, as some of their stuff does appeal to me.
This LS appeals to me. It reminds me a lot of the Mercedes-Benz W140, but in a way that doesn't terrify me to own one. I think it's fair to say that Lexus had a pretty good death grip on Mercedes-Benz in 2005, and this car is a prime example of why.
