Audi e-tron GT Review: Brilliant, If You Can Afford It
Electric cars. Nowadays there is plenty of choice. Some offer good value, some are pioneers, and some can even be quirky. What happens if one is Audi? Well, you get this, the e-tron GT, a sleek, stylish four-door coupe that can crack 62mph in little over 4 seconds, and can in theory transport you in comfort for around 300 miles.
Not only is the Audi e-tron GT comfortable, but as the 0-62mph sprint time will tell you, it’s fast as well. This may well be the standard, non-RS version but it still offers 376hp along with 640Nm of torque. In case you somehow find this a little lethargic, you can spend more money to get the RS, which offers up to 646hp! For this car, the power can actually be increased to 530hp if you have the boost mode, which you will need in order to do a launch.
As mentioned at the top of the video, the Audi e-tron GT can offer a range of around 300 miles - the same can be said for the RS version. The standard car and the RS both use a 93.4kWh battery, which is larger than this car’s cousin, the Porsche Taycan. It is worth noting that the Taycan does have a cheaper starting price.
The e-tron GT can be charged at a rate of up to 270kW DC, and where the right charger is available, 144 miles of range can be achieved in just 10 minutes. You’ll need a more leisurely 14 hours to get the battery full when using a 7kW callbox charger. It’ll take 1 and a half hours to get from 10% to 80% using a 50kW charger and only 23 minutes to get the same result from a 150kW charger.
Needless to say, the Audi e-tron GT costs a pretty penny, but what comes as standard? The starting price for the e-tron GT is a little under £86,000, with standard features including 20” alloys, quattro all wheel drive, adaptive dampers, Audi Drive Select, LED lights, power tailgate, heated front seats, leather seats, three zone climate control, keyless entry, Audi virtual cockpit, 10.1” touchscreen, reversing camera, parking system plus, and safety systems such as autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning.
