The GPDP Discipline-specific LNG Trainings conducted from March-April 2022 served as introductory courses on the various disciplines critical to the Philippine Downstream Natural Gas Industry (PDNGI) value chain. The trainings, which were conducted by GPDP’s Technical Experts, included courses on Process Safety and Occupational Health; Mechanical Equipment/Facilities Engineering; Environmental Considerations; Marine Engineering; Coastal and Port Engineering; and Electrical and Fire Explosion Safety.

The Marine Engineering course included the following topics:

-Maritime aspects of downstream LNG industry
-Driving forces for the use of LNG in the shipping and energy sector
-The regulatory aspects of LNG shipping, operational and safety issues in storage
-Bunkering and the characteristics and design of LNG vessels and onboard machinery and systems
-Understanding of the maritime regulations, rules, and codes relating to the LNG industry
