Day 1: Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon 🌄🏍️ Mae Hong Son Loop
The adventure begins as I ride my Honda ADV 160 motorbike from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon National Park, covering about 104 km (65 miles). This 2-hour journey along scenic roads is a dream for motorbike enthusiasts and sets the stage for an unforgettable digital nomad travel adventure. Along the way, I stop to admire stunning waterfalls like Wachirathan and Sirithan, capturing the beauty of northern Thailand's nature and culture.
Doi Inthanon, also called the "Roof of Thailand," is the country's highest peak at 2,565 meters (8,415 feet) above sea level. Known for its cool climate and lush, mountainous landscapes, it's a must-visit for digital nomads in Thailand looking for adventure and tranquility. The national park is famous for its biodiversity, featuring rare bird species and ancient forests. The entry fee is 300 baht per person and 20 baht for motorbikes-a small price for experiencing one of Thailand's most iconic destinations.
After exploring the park, I unwind in a luxurious glamping tent surrounded by nature, an ideal choice for travelers and nomads seeking unique accommodations. Dinner features Moo Kata, Thailand's famous barbecue-hot pot combo. This interactive meal is perfect for chilly mountain nights, where you grill marinated meats while cooking vegetables and noodles in a flavorful broth. At 1,800 baht, this unique stay and delicious meal made for the perfect end to an incredible first day on the Mae Hong Son Loop, one of Thailand's most epic motorbike routes for digital nomads and adventure seekers.
