In today’s video, Dr. Huebner explains Stage 3 of the Norwood Men’s Hair Loss Scale. The Norwood Men's Hair Loss Scale is a standardized system used to classify the stages of male pattern baldness, which is the most common form of hair loss in men.
Knowing where you fall on the Norwood Scale is key to determining the best hair restoration options for you.
At Norwood 3, watch out for these signs:
- Deepening of the triangular or wedge-shaped pattern in the temporal areas (front corners) compared to Norwood 2
- Temporal areas are barely covered or fully exposed with no hair growth (aka a widow’s peak)
- Early thinning of the crown
At this stage of hair loss, you could benefit from a hair transplant, as well as preventative measures to prevent further hair loss.
