The Iraqi army and militia forces have been fighting ISIL militants since October 2016 to drive them out of Mosul, their last major stronghold in the country. Four months on, parts of the city have been liberated from the extremists, but the battle has yet to be won. Jack Barton was with the Iraqi Special Forces when they entered Mosul, and witnessed firsthand the legacy of ISIL's attempts to indoctrinate people and govern the city.
