In this video, Dr. Deependra Vikram Singh interviews Prof. doctor Rajeev -Chawla on how he incorporated telescreening into his diabetes practice in New Delhi.
Doctor Rajeev Chawla is the senior consultant diabetologist director at North Delhi Diabetes Centre. Diabetic retinopathy is a critical complication of diabetes. Most of the time, diabetic patients don’t prefer getting their eyes checked, as the initial symptoms of diabetes do not include symptoms of diabetic retinopathy.
To confirm signs of diabetes, usual blood glucose and insulin tests are done, but when doctors ask patients to get retina checkups from retina specialists, patients refuse to do so. To curb this issue, doctor Rajeev Chawla incorporated telescreening into his practice 8 years ago and according to him, the results have been phenomenal.
Watch the full video for an in-depth analysis of how this telescreening helped him and his patients and what learnings he accumulated over the course of 8 years.
