April 17, 2001 - In what would end up as their final season in teal & burgundy, the 2000-01 Pistons finished just 32-50 under head coach George Irvine. The team's offensive attack broadly revolved around throwing the ball to Jerry Stackhouse and watching him go. Stack finished second in the league in scoring (29.8 ppg), behind only Allen Iverson's 31.1.
Following the season, Irvine would be replaced by Rick Carlisle and the team would introduce veterans Clifford Robinson and Jon Barry, leading to a remarkable turnaround in 2001-02 that'd see the Pistons win their first division title in 10 years, once again wearing the familiar red, white, and blue.
