Apologies to all our loyal followers who've been missing their fortnightly fix of automotive wisdom from Iain, but a busy few weeks in the workshop and on the road meant that filming unfortunately wasn't possible. But we're back this week with a quick catch-up of some of the jobs that have been keeping the team busy since the last update, starting with our old friend, the yellow Lamborghini Miura S that featured way back in Episode 1. That being the barn-find discovery in the Black Forest that sold at auction in November 2019 for £1.25 Million. Having arrived back in the workshop with a lovely new paint-job in the last catch-up, work has begun in earnest on building up the mechanical elements, fitting the electrical wiring loom and refitting the original interior that Craig has done an incredible job of sympathetically restoring to its original glory.

Iain then looks at another Miura that has returned to the workshop, this time arguably the ultimate iconic example in the form of a lime green Miura SV. Previously featured in a couple of workshop catch-ups, this car arrived in the workshop painted red, but stripping it down revealed the original colour to be lime green so that is what it has been returned to, and it looks non-the-worse for it! Iain delves into the history of the advancements in tyre technology that made the SV a reality, satisfying the original vision of the likes of Marcello Gandini and Gian Paolo Dallara.

Whilst the yellow Miura has had its original interior carefully preserved, the SV had previously undergone a less-than-satisfactory retrim, so this car requires the opposite approach from Craig, requiring a full retrim to restore it to its original glory. Iain catches up with Craig at his bench to see everything he's been busy crafting.

To round out the episode, Iain introduces another recent arrival, a Fiat 130 Coupe. Rather prone to rusting... badly, this particular example is in relatively good condition, but still requiring the expect attention of welder James to patch up some of the bodywork.
