If you want to hide the chat with a particular person or a group from the main screen of your messenger application then you can archive the chat. For example if I want to hide this chat, I will tap on the chat and then I will select "Archive". Now you can see that the chat is hidden. Now later on if you want to unarchive the chat on messenger then what you do, tap on your profile icon here. Scroll down and you have the option here "Archived chats". Open it and if you want to unarchive the chat again then tap and hold the chat. Then select "unarchive". So, once you do it if you go back to the main messenger app screen, you can see the archived chat is again displayed. In this way you can unarchive messages in messenger.
