Apple's just taken Emergency SOS live in Australia (and New Zealand). Here's how to use the service, though hopefully you'll never need it.

Explanatory note: This video was produced using phones supplied by Apple Australia under controlled conditions, and while it does show the actual satellites and services enabled by Satellite SOS, this was before the service was live to the public in Australia and used in an authorised way.

Under no circumstances should you send any kind of emergency messages if you don't actually need them; it's a waste of resources that may be needed by people in actual peril, and in Australia it does constitute a criminal offence.
