As EU regions move towards climate neutrality, it is crucial for their local economies to maintain competitiveness in the European landscape. This can be achieved by supporting local SMEs or attracting new and strategic industries to a JTF region. This session explored both angles and highlighted interregional approaches to securing the competitiveness of local economies in coal and carbon-intensive regions. International speakers shared their experiences with designing SME support measures and attracting new industries to their regions. A series of presentations were also followed by a panel discussion and a dialogue with the audience.
